Green'er was founded with a single goal: to maximize the value of every car, bicycle, and truck tire, from the very first mile and far beyond.

From waste tires to something better

Tires are more than just a means of transportation. They are raw materials that deserve a second life—not as cheap granulate, but as a fully-fledged material in construction, sports, industry, and transportation.

Green'er is driving change in the tire industry. We believe in circular models that work and in material cycles with no waste. Not tomorrow, but today.

What does Green'er do?

Research Funding

We fund research that paves the way for new applications of tire materials—from materials science to process optimization.

Incubation & development

Startups and scale-ups get more than just funding. They also gain access to labs, technical expertise, and guidance to help them grow from a prototype into a fully-fledged product.

Network of Partners

We bring together businesses, research institutions, and policymakers. To remove barriers—from regulations and laws to purchase guarantees.

Who are we?

Green'er is managed by the King Baudouin Foundation and operates under a clear governance structure:

Steering Committee

The Board of Directors makes strategic decisions, approves investments, and ensures Green'er stays true to its mission.

Selection Committee

The Selection Committee evaluates project proposals based on technical feasibility, financial soundness, and social impact. The committee consists of:

  • Industry experts (rubber, automotive, construction)
  • Academics in materials science and the circular economy
  • Financial professionals from venture capital and private equity

 

Fund & Community Manager

The Fund & Community Manager, is the primary point of contact for candidates and guides projects from intake to networking.

How Green'er has grown

Q1 2025

Green'er is taking shape. The vision is being defined and the governance structure established, with the King Baudouin Foundation serving as the managing organization.

Q2 2025

The investment criteria are established. Initial discussions with companies, researchers, and policymakers regarding the fund’s potential.

Q3 2025

Green'er becomes visible with its own branding and website.

Q4 2025

The launch event takes place in Brussels on November 20. The first projects are officially approved and receive funding.

Q1 2026

The first calls for funding are issued. Roundtables with industry, research institutions, and government bodies are planned to strengthen collaboration.
 

What’s next?

  • Expand the portfolio to 20+ projects by the end of 2026
  • Launch international collaborations, including the EU Circular Rubber Platform
  • Opening a scale-up incubator in Antwerp or Brussels, as a home base for the most promising projects
